The AFUNPI-Hyderabad, founded in August 2023 with 13 UN retirees, has now grown to 16 members. Meetings are typically held at the UNICEF office, thanks to the Chief of Office’s support, and the group enjoys a strong sense of camaraderie. We gather three or four times a year to welcome new members, share updates from meetings, discuss travel experiences, address medical or administrative queries and CE.
In October 2023 and 2024, we celebrated our centenarian member, Mr. V.R. Pantulu’s 100th and 101st birthdays with cake and flowers. On November 27, 2024, we had a fun lunch at Royal Reve Hotel, playing Pictionary and bonding over a meal. We also visited Mrs. Manorama Pant, an 88-year-old member, who lives in a retirement home and is an inspiration to all of us with her optimistic outlook on life.
