The AFPUNI Hyderabad meeting was held at the local UNICEF office. It is the third meeting held after the inaugural meeting in March 2021. 10 of the 13 members participated in the meeting and the group welcomed Asha Dutia (spouse of late Gopal Dutia (UNICEF).
After the official welcome by the OIC Sony Kuty George the Health Specialist and Unit Rep shared health tips for the ongoing season and advised members to follow up with their physicians and update flu shots. Covid cases are increasing and the daily positivity rate was at 2.73 on that day. There is a need to exercise caution.
Members shared their feedback from the AFUNPI AGM held at Bangalore (Sudha), UNICEF get together at Kolkata (Chandra/Uma Murthy) and the IAS retirees reunion in Bangalore. (Daphne). Sudha read out some key points made by Dr.Seenappa in the various committees and flagged Raghu Rao's availability in India.
Members had an in-depth discussion on CIGNA and its random dismissal of claims, refusal to accommodate physicians' recommendations for surgical procedures keeping in view the age of the pensioner, lack of information on websites regarding which hospitals were taken off the list by CIGNA etc.
Meeting was concluded with mutual thanks and with three action points to be taken up

- External experts to be invited to give talks on Ageing and associated subjects of interest.
